HOMEMAKER - HOME HEALTH AIDE SCOPE OF SERVICES
* Assistance in Activities of Daily Living:
- Care of the teeth and mouth
- Grooming, such as shaving, care of the hair and nails
- Bathing
- Toilet
- Changing bed linens with patient in bed
- Ambulation indoors and outdoors
- Helping patients transfer
- Eating, preparing meals
- Dressing
- Relearning household skills due to disability
- Accompanying patient to clinics, physicians or on other trips made for the
purpose of obtaining medical diagnosis, treatment or other therapeutic purposes
* Assistance with Therapeutic Regime:
- Helping with monitoring prescribed exercises
- Assisting with medications that can be self-administered
- Assisting with use of special equipment, such as walker, braces, crutches, wheelchair, etc.
- Assisting with simple procedures as an extension of physical, speech or occupational therapy
- Measuring and recoding temperature, radial pulse and respiration
* Maintenance of a Safe and Healthy Environment:
- Care of patient's room and other areas used through sweeping, vacuuming and dusting
- Maintaining general cleanliness of the kitchen and bathroom
- Care of the patient's laundry and bed linens
- Necessary bed-making and changing of the linens
- Shopping for food and household supplies needed for the health and maintenance of the patient
- Planning, preparing and serving meals
